Teacher Interview Questions

Hi everyone!

I am so thankful for this 3 day weekend!  I only have 11 more days to go, but my husband and I are in the process of moving, and that combined with the end of the year activities is leaving me exhausted!  On top of all of that, I am starting to think about next year.  I’m getting my curriculum ordering done, and we are starting to think about the positions we need to fill for next year.  My principal has asked me to sit in on interviews for prospective teachers.  Before I did that, my neurotic self had to create some questions that I felt would lead me to the best candidate for our school!

Personally, I hate doing interviews!!!!! I get all red and sweaty, and if it’s a panel interview, forget about it!  The only thing that helps my poor nerves is when I am ridiculously over prepared and feel like I can answer any question that comes my way.  I created this list of questions for people on both sides of the table.  My hope is that you can use this both to find good candidates for your school, or as a new teacher looking for ways to prepare yourself for that big interview.

I left room after each question for the interviewer to take notes, or for the prospective teacher to jot down thoughtful answers to each question.

I hope this comes in handy for some of you, and if you would like a free copy of it just fill out the information below:
